Dani Pedrosa made his debut in MotoGP category in 2006, inside the Repsol Honda Team. His teammate that season was Nicky Hayden (the Kentucky kid).
The beginning of 2006 season was fantastic for Dani Pedrosa, in the 1st round (Spanish GP at Jerez) Dani got an impressive 2nd place, behind Loris Capirossi (Malboro Ducati Team).
But, it was in the 4º round (Chinese GP) where Dani achieved his first MotoGP victory, ahead of his teammate, Nicky Hayden, and Colin Edwards (Camel Yamaha).
Through the season, Dani reached another victory at Donington Park, 8 podiums, 4 pole position and 4 fast laps.
At the end of the season, Dani finished 5º in the championship standings and being the rookie of the season.
